Sacrifice, unending compassion
Seemingly able to ameliorate every situation
Passions and dreams put aside
Putting your body to the test and carrying all four
Imagine I cannot the stress of carrying and human inside me
And carrying that inside me and having it grow
What a miracle it is to simply think about
No wonder the mothers’ connection is so special

To walk side by side with your boys
Homeschooling
Co-op
High school
And now adulthood
Endless books read over the years
Knees worn out from prayers
Buckets filled with tears of concern

Adventures abound and you are around
Ready for the next challenge
Ready for the next car in the yard
Ready for the next party
Bring one bring them all
I will feed them all
Coaching, music, athletic director, volunteer extrodaneer
Bring it on, I am here

The wounds of the mother’s heart so overlooked
Every skinned knee, bike crash, football tackle
Every girl that comes over to steel your boy
With the question that you never ask
Are they good enough
Will they love him like he needs
Will they support him in his dreams
Will they take care of him

Peacemaker of brotherly battles
Peacemaker of Papa Bear
Phone calls of danger
That helpless feeling of not being able to protect your baby
Mother bear hall of fame
You will find yourself someday

I want to say thank you
Knowing that those words will never truly express
How truly grateful I am
For how much you loved the boys.
For how well you loved the boys
For how much you did you keep things running
Endless meals cooked and never fully appreciated
To keep smiles on faces
And more impressive a smile of yours

Your boys adore you
And for good reason
You are one in a million
So I give you one million thanks
